Helio
A digital product platform for a renewable energy company. End-to-end strategy, brand and web experience.
Trust without conversion.
Helio had a strong product and a credible story, but the gap between 'I understand solar' and 'I'd like to talk to someone' was too wide. The site was doing the first job well and the second job not at all.
The brief wasn't 'make a better website.' It was 'make a website that closes the gap between understanding and action — without becoming aggressive.'
How we approached it.
Research
Sixteen customer interviews, three site visits, two weeks of analytics review.
Strategy
Rebuilt the value proposition around a personalised savings model.
Design
A new brand voice and an interface designed to feel calm, not persuasive.
Build
Next.js + GSAP, with a custom estimator that runs entirely client-side.
Launch
Phased rollout across two regions, with weekly iteration on the estimator flow.
“We finally have a product that explains itself the way a good salesperson would — clearly, honestly, and without rushing you.”— Director of Product, Helio (concept)
Numbers that belong to the customer.
We rebuilt the product surface around a single principle: every number on the page should be the customer's number, not an industry average.
That meant rewriting the savings model to use real roof orientation, real irradiance data, and real tariff assumptions. And it meant giving the user a way to override every assumption, so the model felt like a tool, not a sales aid.
A site that closes the gap.
The new Helio experience opens with a 90-second estimator. It then unfolds into a savings model, a system overview, and — when the user is ready — a low-pressure path to a human conversation.
The brand voice was rewritten from scratch. Short sentences. No exclamation marks. The conviction comes from the numbers and the product, not from the copy.
